Marin Lodge No. 191 F. & A.M. was organized by sixteen Freemasons to help improve themselves and their community in San Rafael in 1868. These men formed the first Masonic Lodge in Marin county. We received our charter from the Grand Lodge of California F. & A.M. in October of 1868 during the Annual Communication of Grand Lodge that year. We are the 191st Masonic Lodge to be chartered in the state of California. We are located in downtown San Rafael at 1010 Lootens Place at the intersection of 4th Street and Lootens Place. We are one of three Masonic Lodges in Marin County. Our sister Lodges are Mill Valley Lodge No. 356, which is located in Mill Valley and Ross Valley Lodge No. 556, which is located in Larkspur. Our Lodge room, library and office are located on the second floor of our building. Our stated (business) meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month beginning at 8:00 p.m.
Visiting brethren from both near and far are always welcome to attend.

Freemasonry is the world's first and largest fraternal organization. It is a body of knowledge and a system of ethics based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to improve himself while being devoted to his family, faith, country and fraternity. AsFreemasons, we lead by example, by giving back to our communities, and supporting numerous Masonic philanthropies. We invest in children, our neighborhoods and our future.
