Mill Valley Lodges Recent Master Mason
The officers of Mill Valley Lodge and the Acacia Club conferred
the Master Mason degree upon Brother Manny Chavez
of Mill Valley Lodge.
Esteemed Brother Recognized
In August, San Francisco Scottish Rite honored brother Wor. Brother Balapolous PM and other brethren who had been members for fifty years of their organization. Raised and serving as Master in a Lodge in San Francisco, Wor. Balapolous had made many contributions to the Scottish Rite Bodies over the years, in many different roles. He served as the district inspector in Marin county for many years. He served many years as the officers coach of Fairfax Lodge.
On October 6th, 2018, the officers and members of Marin Lodge together with the officers of the Grand Lodge of California came together to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the founding of Marin Lodge No. 191 Free and Accepted Masons of San Rafael. A ceremony was held and the event was celebrated by a dinner afterwards.

District Masons of the Year Honored
On September 15th, 2018, the Grand Master of Masons in California presented the Mason of the Year Award to brethren of three local Lodges. Brother Tom Benoit of Mill Valley Lodge, Brother Kameron Izadjou, former secretary of Fairfax Lodge and Wor. Brother William Fereira PM of Marin Lodge. Each were honored for their contributions to their Lodge. The event was hosted and sponsored by the Valley of Santa Rosa Scottish Rite.
Mill Valley Lodge Hiram Award Recipient Honored
On August 25th, 2018, Mill Valley Lodge hosted a dinner and celebration at the Wild Fox restaurant in honor of Worshipful Barry Young PM, their 2018 Hiram Award receipient. The award was presented to Worshipful Young by our District Inspector, Worshipful David Von Bima PM in honor of his many contributions to Mill Valley Lodge and Freemasonry over the years. He has helped at many degrees throughout the district over the years and he is an active member of the San Francisco Scottish Rite. For several years, he served as the secretary at his home Lodge in San Francisco
50th Anniversary Celebrated
On July 7th, 2018 Fairfax Lodge hosted a celebratory dinner for Wor. Bro. David Von Bima PM, who is the District Inspector for Marin District Lodges. Worshipful David joined the fraternity in 1968, upon becoming a Master Mason of Fairfax Lodge. The presentation of the Golden Veteran's Award was made by Worshipful Brother Michael Paynter PM, District Inspector of Sonoma county.
The meal and the serving of the dinner was provided by the members of Star of the Redwoods Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.
Mortgage Burning Ceremony
On June 19th, 2018, Mill Valley Lodge celebrated the end of the mortgage
for its building with a mortgage burning ceremony.
This was a momentous occassion for their Lodge.
Bocce Ball Tournament and Picnic
On May 19th, Mill Valley Lodge and Marin Lodge came together for a joint event. Mill Valley Lodge hosted their second Bocce Ball tournament at Albert Park. The officers of Marin Lodge and Brother Tom Benoit prepared a BBQ lunch for all to enjoy. We had a good time.
OES Relay for Life
On the weekend of May 19th and 20th, Star of the Redwoods Order of the Easter Star participated in the American Cancer Societys Relay for Life, a fund raising event to help fight cancer. Our members walked laps to which donors provide funds for eachdlap walked. It took place on the grounds of San Jose Middle School in Novato. The funds raised will go to the American Cancer Societys efforts to fight cancer.

The officers of Mill Valley Lodge conferred the Fellowcraft degree upon Brother Manny Chavez on the evening of August 15th, 2018. Their officers did a great job in conferring the degree.

The degree was preceeded by a dinner to celebrate the occasion.

First Degree of the Year
On January 16th, 2018, the officers of Mill Valley Lodge
conferred the degree Master Mason upon Brother Gerrit Herbst.
2018 District Installations of Officers
On January 3rd, 2018, the officers of Marin Lodge and Fairfax Lodge
were installed in their respective offices.
Afterward, the officers of both Lodges retired for refreshments.

On December 16th, 2017, Mill Valley Lodge held their installation of officers.
Worshipful Master Anderson Silveira and their line of officers were installed for the 2018 year. After the installation was completed, the Lodge and its guests retired for lunch at the Sweetwater Cafe.
